Paul and Janet Pickar first opened the doors of Pickar Plumbing in the spring of 1993. Back then, the shop was located in the charming town of Elma, where the business quickly became known for their dedication to quality service and customer satisfaction.

As business began to grow, the Pickar's recognized the need for a larger space to accommodate their expanding operations. In 2001, they made the strategic decision to relocate to the heart of Riceville. This move not only provided them with more room but also positioned them in a more central location to better serve their growing customer base.

After 18 successful years of building a reputable and trusted business, Paul and Janet decided it was time to pass the torch to the next generation. In 2011, they handed over the reins to their son Luke, who had grown up learning the trade and values of the family business. Luke, along with his close friend Jordan, brought fresh energy and new ideas to the company. Together, they expanded the business to include heating and electrical services, rebranding it as Pickar-Oulman Plumbing, Heating & Electrical, Inc.

Since then, Pickar-Oulman has continued to thrive, serving the communities of Mitchell, Howard, Floyd, and the surrounding counties. Their unwavering dedication to excellence and customer satisfaction remains central to their operations, ensuring that the high standards of quality service continue to thrive.
